Meet Dr. Jeffery M. Smith, M.D
Expert Orthopedic Physician & Surgeon at Jeffery Smith Orthopedics
Dr. Jeff Smith is the physician and surgeon at Jeffery Smith Orthopedics. He specializes in upper extremities, such as hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders. Additionally, he and his team offer State-of-the-Art injury diagnosis and treatment options that include both surgical and non-surgical options. He and his team also understand the unease of patients awaiting surgical consultations, and we focus on creating a comfortable environment that puts your mind at ease throughout the process.
Training & Experience
Dr. Smith graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Utah and attended medical school at Loma Linda University Medical School and University of Utah Medical School. Following medical school, Dr. Smith received training in general surgery from Butterworth Medical Center at Michigan State University, and he completed a Grand Rapids Orthopedic Surgery Residency and University of Washington Combined Hand Fellowship.
Dr. Smith is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Society for the Surgery of the Hand, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
A practicing physician since 1998, Dr. Smith opened the Central Illinois Hand Center in 2002 (Now called Jeffery Smith Orthopedics) to offer outstanding orthopedic care to people throughout Decatur, IL and the surrounding areas.
